As we gear up for a new school year, many families in our community are feeling the financial strain of back-to-school expenses. The good news? You can help make a big difference! Whether it’s a backpack, a pack of crayons, or a stack of notebooks, every donation helps a child start the year with the tools they need to succeed.
We’ve rounded up a list of local organizations and donation drives collecting school supplies for the 2025–26 school year. From churches and community centers to nonprofits and local businesses, there are plenty of easy ways to give back and support students right here in Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Stafford, and beyond.

Back-to-School Supply Drives
Dates and locations accepting donations include:
July 1 - 31, 2025
- FAAR Supply Drive for homeless students: Click this link for a list of requested items and drop-off locations.
- Make a Monetary Donation to Stafford County's Empower Pak here.
July 15- July 31, 2025
- Century 21 Redwood School Supply Drive: Drop off school supplies at 10601 Courthouse Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22407. Get the details here.
July 15- August 3, 2025
- Hope Presbyterian Church: Click this link for the full supply list and to find out how you can help. Donations can be dropped off in the Fellowship Hall.
July 17 - August 4
- Back-to-School Supply Drive: To donate, contact Erin.K.Riley@dss.virginia.gov
July 28 - August 1
- Empower Pack Project Adopt-A-Student: Select an anonymous student from this list. Drop off the supplies between July 28 to August 1 from 7:30am and 7pm at the Stafford School Board Chambers.
Saturday, August 2, 2025:
- Target - Stafford Marketplace, 25 South Gateway Dr, Stafford, VA
- 9am to 11am: Bring your filled backpacks, enjoy live music from local radio, connect with community partners, and take part in family-friendly activities.
Now through August 31, 2025:
- Apple Federal Credit Union locations
- Drop off supplies in the collection bin in the lobby of any Apple FCU branch location. Find details and branch locations here.

Operation Ready 4 Class: Free back-to-school event to support Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania youth. Free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, raffles, physicals & screenings, Live DJ & family fun. Details here.

- Be sure to speak with your child's school to let them know if you still need help with supplies. Many schools have a closet with supplies they can discreetly provide to your child.
