Our area has so many wonderful people who have asked how they can help with back to school. We put together a list of local School Supply Drives for anyone who would like to make a donation. In addition to this list, there are many teachers posting their wish lists on Facebook, so be sure to check with your teacher friends too! Additionally, we have many families who could use a hand. For those families, we have compiled a list of places you can go for clothing, food, and supplies to help you get your family ready for school!
Back to School Supply Drives
- Collect for Kids - The Stafford County Public Schools (Stafford Schools) Collect for Kids: Back-to-School Supply Drive begins April 1, 2023 and concludes with a distribution event on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. Collect for Kids is an opportunity for the community to give back by providing students in need with school supplies. Thank you for generously supporting our students and staff.

- Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office School Supply Drive - August 5 & 6, 2023; Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office will be on-site in the Food Court collecting school supplies for our local children in the community!
- FAAR Community Service School Supply Drive - Now through August 4, 2023 from 11am to 11pm. From backpacks to pencils, we're collecting all types of supplies to empower students. - Stuff The Bus Stafford - July 22, 2023 from 9am to 1pm at the Walmart on Rt 17 near Geico
- Stuff The Bus Spotsy - August 5th from 10 am to 4pm at the Southpoint Walmart
Need Back-to-School Clothing or Supplies?
- Free School Dressing Days - July 21 & 22, 2023. These are available to anyone in Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg, King George, Caroline, or Stafford who are in need of clothing for their children (K-12 & Headstart). In order to attend, you must pre-register at www.interfaithcommunitycouncil.org (or scan the QR below) no later than July 15th, 2023.
- Spotsylvania County Back To School Supply Night - August 3, 2023 from 4:30-7:30 at the Spotsy Department of Social Services. *Park in DSS or gravel lot only*
- Fredericksburg Food Bank
- Back-To-School Fun Day: Sunday, July 30th from noon to 5pm at Garden Inn, 10429 Patriot Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 (Flyer suggests BYO Chair)
- Back 2 School Supplies Giveaway: Saturday, August 5 from 10am to 2pm at9709 Leavells Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22407
- Loads of Back-To-School Fun Day will be held on August 5th from 11am to 2pm at Super Suds, 10657 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, VA
Be sure to speak with your child's school to let them know if you still need help with supplies. Many schools have a closet with supplies they can discreetly provide to your child.
