Spring is in Bloom! There are lots of people to celebrate this month. Here are 10 special family-friendly holidays and events you and your kids will want to mark in May:

National Foster Care Month

Take a moment to recognize families making a meaningful difference in the lives of children in foster care throughout the United States. Find out more about fostering children. May 1-31

National Bike Month

Did you know that 40 percent of all trips in the U.S. are less than two miles? That means we should all get on our bicycles more! May Day

Spread springtime excitement by making a May Day basket for your neighbors. Here are some ideas for how to do it. May 1

Great Train Race
28th Running of the Great Train Race in Downtown Fredericksburg. Kids ages 17 and under race in one of three races from the Train Station to the City Dock.

National Teacher Appreciation Week

Cinco de Mayo

In Mexico, Cinco de Mayo is a minor holiday meant to mark the day the Mexican Army beat the French Army in the 1800s.
