2. Try a new local restaurant. March 5-14th is Spotsylvania Restaurant week! Visit participating restaurants and get a stamp on your Passport. Submit your Passport to win prizes!
3. Clean out closets. It’s soon going to be consignment season, so now is a great time to go through your child(ren)’s closets and find all the spring and summer clothes that no longer fit them.
4. Enjoy that extra hour of daylight. We “spring forward” on March 14, meaning we gain an extra hour of sunshine each evening. Visit our Event Calendar to find some new fun things to do.
5. Learn about an inspirational woman. March is National Women’s History Month. Check out our weekly Local Women’s History articles all this month, starting with Mary Ball Washington. Grab your family and take in the local history.
6. Fly a Kite. Take advantage of a windy day, grab your kids and go fly a kite. Don’t have a kite? Make your own.
6. Hunt for Easter Eggs! The Macaroni Kid Fredericksburg "No Touch" Easter Egg Hunt starts March 22nd. Visit local participating businesses and look for the secret Easter word on the Easter Egg in their window. Submit the answers (each correct answer is 1 entry) to win a Gift Certificate to a local business! (Look for details in our March 18th Newsletter!)
7. March 28: National Something on a Stick Day. Use your imagination and celebrate this day with a meal on a stick, like these Sandwich Skewers and cookies on a stick.
8. Get Crafty! Crafting and Coloring are relaxing and a great way to spend time with your kids. Find a fun craft in our Craft Guide or try our Free Printables.
9. Enjoy the sunshine. March 20th is the first official day of Spring. Visit our local Parks, Playgrounds and Battlefields Guide to find a new local place to visit on the next warm day.
10. Do something new!
