Helping To Keep Our Community Fed

Where to go if you need food & how can do to help in Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania and Stafford, VA

By Jenny Sites January 14, 2021

During COVID-19 lots of those in our community have lost their jobs, had hours cut and are struggling to meet basic needs, including feeding their families.  The Fredericksburg food bank has already distributed millions of pounds of food through their 23 mobile pantry sites, weekly on-site distributions and with the huge help of their partner agencies/pantries.

If you, or someone you know, are in need of food assistance, please download their app, FredFoodVa. This is your BEST RESOURCE to locate food assistance. It is the most up to date schedule and helps connect those in need with the closest location. You can also visit their website or call (540) 371-7666.

“Our organizational model is dependent on community support and we have certainly felt the love this year. As we project the demand for food to rise and the availability to decrease, we can't stop having these conversations. Every contribution is valuable, whether you like us on Facebook, instigate a food drive, participate/sponsor any of our events, donate remotely or help us distribute directly to our community. [For all of the details], please visit our website at fredfood.org,  if you would like to dive even deeper and take a tour please contact me.” says Stephanie Sherrill, Events Coordinator at the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank. She can be reached at ssherrill@freddfood.org or (540) 371-7666 ext.147.
