Heritage 5 Miler

 This run is a scenic 5 Mile USATF Certified Course which runs along the Rappahannock River and other shaded areas of the City of Fredericksburg.  This race is sponsored by Fredericksburg Fallen Heroes: a local non-profit that provides support to the Veterans and First Responders in need of assistance in our local community.
The race will begin at Caroline Street between Lafayette and Frederick and finishing at Charlotte Street between Princess Anne and Caroline Street.
Packet pick up will be available on July 3, 2022 at Lucky Road Run Shop located at 1365 Carl D. Silver Pkwy #110 Fredericksburg, Va. 22401 between 1-6 p.m. Packets will also be available the day of the race between 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. at the Fredericksburg visitor center. Please arrive early to retrieve your packet to be ready to start promptly.  Race will begin at 7:30 a.m.

What could be more patriotic than spending July 4th on the grounds of George Washington’s Boyhood Home? Celebrate Independence Day the Revolutionary Way with acres of activities for all ages!
Play colonial games, tour the Washington House, meet a George Washington reenactor, watch a flag retirement ceremony, talk with archaeologists around an active dig site, take a selfie with B101.5’s Buzzy the Bee, make a paper tricorn hat, explore different historical encamped military units, visit a macaroni selfie station, be fascinated by “The Fossils of Ferry Farm” — and much more! Food trucks on-site, including Fredericksburg's favorite, Juan More Taco!
Tickets $1 per person, ages 3 and up. Children 2 and under free. Pay at the entrance, cash or credit cards.
In the event of rain, activities will be cancelled and refunds issued.
Parking and shuttles provided nearby at the Eagles Lodge, 21 Cool Springs Road, Fredericksburg. Shuttles also stop at the Fourth in Fredericksburg Celebration at the intersection of Caroline and Charlotte Streets in downtown Fredericksburg.

Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence

Join us on the steps of the Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop as we celebrate our independence. There will be three live readings of the Declaration of Independence at 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3PM. This event is open and free to the public.

Nearby Celebrations

6 pm, John Lee Pratt Memorial Park invites folks to some late-time chill, including DJ music, food trucks, and yard games. Lastly, Pratt Park boasts a splendid firework show starting at 9:30 pm. Besides the venue itself, you can also observe the display from Old Mill Park and Expo Center parking area.

Fireworks will be launched from the Reflecting Pool area and will be visible from many locations in D.C. and Virginia.
Duration: 17 minutes
Viewing areas on the National Mall near the Washington Monument and Reflecting Pool will be accessible only through secure access points.
Other Viewing Areas: U.S. Capitol, Lincoln Memorial, National Mall between 14th Street and 3rd Street, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, The White House Ellipse, West Potomac Park, East Potomac Park, Anacostia Park, U.S. Marine Corps Memorial (Virginia), George Washington Memorial Parkway (Virginia).
