Periods are a natural part of growing up—but for many students, they can come with unexpected stress, embarrassment, and a lack of access to necessities. Imagine being a young girl at school, caught off guard without the necessary supplies. It’s a moment many of us remember all too well—and it’s exactly the kind of moment The Pink Flower Project aims to change.

The Pink Flower Project is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides feminine hygiene products to public schools in Spotsylvania, Caroline, King George, Orange, Stafford, and Fredericksburg. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure that no student feels unprepared or ashamed when their period begins at school.

Each year, The Pink Flower Project donates thoughtfully prepared personal care bags to each school, from elementary to high school, so students of all ages have access to much-needed supplies.. These bags contain pads, panty liners, and individually wrapped wipes—everything a girl might need in a moment of surprise. The best part? These kits are discreet, easy to grab, and belong to the student to keep.

This small act of kindness makes a big difference. It provides comfort, confidence, and dignity to students who may not have access to these products otherwise. It also reminds them that their community cares.

But this project can’t happen without your help. The Pink Flower Project runs entirely on donations from generous individuals, local businesses, and community supporters. Their goal is to supply every participating school once a year—and provide a restock if it’s needed.

How You Can Help:

  • Donate hygiene products (pads, panty liners, and wipes) and/or small pouches for products to be packed in. You can see their Amazon Wishlist here.
  • Sponsor a school kit drive
  • Make a monetary donation
  • Share the project with your network to spread the word

Every contribution helps ensure that local girls have what they need—when they need it most.
