1. Motts Run Reservoir

860 acres of beauty, this area boasts a 160-acre reservoir. Enjoy the changing leaves while hiking, biking, picnicking or canoeing. You can find the hiking and biking map here.
Hours: April 1- Oct 31 Thursday through Monday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

2. Lake Anna State Park
Address: 6800 Lawyers Road, Spotsylvania, VA
Enjoy over 3,000 acres with about 10 miles of lake frontage. Visit the beach area, walk, bike, or horseback ride through over 15 miles of trails, and check out the Goodwin Gold Mine. You can find a trail guide here.
Hours: 7:00 am to dusk. Visitor Center is open Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

4. Turkey Run Park (Great Falls Park)

This 800-acre park is open from 7:00 am until 30 minutes after sunset. Enjoy hiking trails, overlooks, and picnic areas.

5.Skyline Drive

Fall is a gorgeous time to drive the Skyline Drive. 105 miles of scenic Blue Ridge Mountains with 4 entrance points. (Locate entrance points here). There are also 500 miles of hiking trails that you can find here in addition to 5 campground areas should you choose to stay the night.
You will need to purchase a pass to enter unless you're entering on a Fee Free Day or if you have a 4th grader!
