Fishing can be fun for the entire family! We have put together a list of some local fishing spots that have been recommended in our area.
As a reminder, a Virginia state fishing license is required for fishing at any of these locations.

Fish from the banks, bring your boat or rent a boat there. There is a charge for fishing or boating at the Reservoir. A fishing license is required to fish here.

Public fishing is permitted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
6800 Lawyer's Road, Spotsylvania, VA 22551
Park is open 7am to dusk. Fishing, swimming and launching your own boat is available. The gate opens at 5pm for fishermen. Boat ramp is available, not no rentals at this park.

5. Cossey Park

A neighborhood park with a small fishing pond.
6. Lake Mooney
495 Greenbank Dr, Fredericksburg, VA 22406
A 530 acre lake great for fishing for large mouth bass, catfish, sunfish, bluegill and crappie. Boat ramp and canoe launch is available but there is no swimming in the lake. Public restrooms.
2846 Brooke Rd, Stafford, VA 22554
32-acre Park which is open daily from 8am to dusk. A wooded and marshy area plus a recreational beach. It is located on the Potomac River. The picnic area and restrooms are a plus for families.
665 Kellogg Mill Road, Stafford, VA 22554
Fish for Catfish and bass in this stocked fishing area. Parking is available and there is a boat ramp. Open from dawn to dusk year-round.
9. Curtis Lake
Stoney Hill Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22406
Fishing pier and public boat landing. Open dawn to dusk year-round.
