Christian Youth Theater (CYT) is an after-school theater arts training program for students ages 4-18. Since its founding in 1980, CYT has grown to be the largest youth theater program in the nation, with Branches across the country training thousands of students a year.
From Tony winners Terrence McNally, Stephen Flaherty, and Lynn Ahrens, creators of such Broadway classics as Ragtime and Once On This Island, this dazzling show transports its audience from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing con man and a lovable ex-aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love, and family.
I spoke with director, Anna Hansen about what makes this musical so special to her and she said, “Anastasia's story has fascinated me since my early years. Despite Anya's struggle with her mysterious past, her fiery determination fuels her journey, clinging to her beliefs. This unwavering faith empowers her to chase the possibility of reuniting with her family despite the shadows of her obscured history. We can all relate to this, finding solace in our faith during times of trouble or loss, knowing that our security lies in our faith in the Lord. We can stand firm and remain steadfast with God’s presence within us.”

CYT offers classes throughout three sessions during the school year: Fall, Winter, and Spring. They also offer summer camps.
