Did you know that Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, and Stafford have a combined total of around 50 public parks? You can find a list of these parks, locations, and their amenities HERE.
Each park has a variety of amenities for maximum family fun. In addition to walking nature trails, riding the bike trails, and playing on the playgrounds, here are 5 more fun things you can do at the park:

1) Blow bubbles and watch them take a ride in the wind. See how far they can go and who can blow the biggest bubble. Bubbles are fun for all ages!

2) Fly a kite. Be sure to find a safe and open space to fly your kite, free of trees, electrical lines, and other people. Take turns learning new kite tricks.

3) Complete a Scavenger Hunt. You can print one of ours, or create your own!

4) Have a picnic. Pack some sandwiches and fruit and grab a blanket to sit on. Picnics are always great fun for kids!

5) Play a game. Soccer, football, frisbee, tennis, disc golf, basketball, pickleball, tug-o-war, or relay races - any game you can think of creates a great way to bond with your family. You don't have to be good to have fun. Many of our local parks have fields, courts, and the other things needed to play. Try something new each time you go!
No matter what you do, have fun and soak in the memories. They grow up much too quickly!
