Every year when winter rolls around we seem to be shocked that there is so much illness spreading at work and school. Here are some easy ways to keep yourself, and your family, healthy this winter.
1. Wash Your Hands: Washing your hands is the best way to prevent germs from entering your body. You should wash your hands with soap and water for about 20 seconds. Be sure that you wash both sides of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails. Dry your hands thoroughly when you are finished. Anti-bacterial hand sanitizer is great on the go, but there's nothing that beats good old-fashioned hand washing.

2. Drink More Water: While drinking lots of water is important anytime during the year, increasing your water intake helps your body flush out toxins. Water also helps your body function to keep you healthy and prevent you from being sick. 3. Disinfect: Be sure that you are wiping down frequently used items that your family shares, such as door knobs, remote controls, and light switches. You should also wash your child's jacket, backpack, and other items that travel to and from school or daycare often.
