I haven't been out on a river since college. I won't tell you exactly how long ago that was but let's just say I'm pretty rusty. The staff at Lander's River Trips was fantastic. They quickly got our large group together, into properly sized life jackets and on the river.

There are a number of entry points to choose from allowing for different distances and views. We put in at Narrowsvile (which also has a campground area) and took a leisurely stroll 5 miles down the river. The scenery on the Delaware River is amazing. We saw a number of bald eagles and fish. The water is so clear that we could even see clams on the bottom of the river.
After 5 miles an employee from Lander's River Trips was waiting for us to arrive. He helped us with our rafts and took us back to the main parking lot in a Lander's bus. After returning to our original location, we went into the main store, which sells food, drinks, fishing and camping equipment. We picked up yummy sandwiches, chips, coleslaw, and cookies for lunch.
I'm looking forward to getting back with my kids! It will be a great adventure for them. Not only will they get to see new and different wildlife, experience something new, and learn the value of teamwork, but it will keep them outside in the fresh air and give them a break from their electronics! Lander's River Trips also offers canoeing, kayaking, and tubing so maybe I'll try something new next time!
