If you are looking for a fun outdoor adventure for the family, please consider visiting the Natural Tunnel State Park. It was called the "Eighth Wonder of the World" by William Jennings Bryan. The park offers visitors not only spectacular sights but also swimming, cabins, camping, picnicking, hiking, a visitor's center, an amphitheater, and interpretive programs, including guided canoe tours and wild cave trips. A highlight though is the quite steep chairlift that takes you from the visitor’s center down to the natural tunnel area, or you can choose to hike down. Either way you will not be disappointed in the breathtaking beauty of this off-the-beaten-path treasure of Virginia.
