The SPCA of Fredericksburg is excited to offer a new virtual twist to our ongoing Humane Education Program. During the summer months in past years, we have offered our Compassionate Care Camp, which was designed to teach kids about animal needs and care, as well as what we do at the SPCA and how they can help. Our new Junior Animal Advocates Virtual Summer Camp boasts all of the above and more! We want our community to be safe during these times, but still engaged and social! We recognize that many kids are missing one another, and we want to bring together animal loving children in our community to share space, time and learn many different facets of animal life and advocacy.
Stephanie Bowne, a core member of our #FredFosterFam has been opening new doors for her son since enrolling in our programs. There is so much that children soak in, quietly and organically, from learning how to interact with animals and care for them. ”My son, Gabe, has learned responsibility and compassion through helping me with fostering cats. His love for all living creatures was fostered through caring for a pregnant kitty and her 7 kittens. He decided when he turned 13 that it was time for him to be on the foster list and successfully fostered Abe and Roy. He named his bedroom Gabe's Resort for Wayward Cats.”
We are thrilled to be able to use our platform and different programs to guide compassionate children to areas where they can gain knowledge and feel empowered to make changes in our world. This virtual summer camp is designed to provide your child with a better understanding of different animal related career fields, proper daily care for animals, a combination of fun activities for them to do on their own, a chance to hear from real people in the industry, access to exclusive videos as well as opportunities for discussions about a large variety of animal related topics.
Not only is this an incredible experience for the animal loving child in your life, all monies raised through camp fees goes toward our life saving mission.
Junior Animal Advocates Virtual Summer Camp
Each week-long session is Monday through Friday from 9am to 12pm hosted virtually over Zoom.
July 13th-17th 6 - 9 years old
July 20th - 24th 10 - 13 years old
July 27th - July 31st 6 - 9 years old
August 3rd - 7th 10 - 13 years old
