10 Fun snacks kids can make! (without you!)

By Kimora Bryant July 23, 2020

When you’re not in the mood for a whole meal, what's better than a tasty snack. While eating Doritos, Cheez-its, and Twinkies is delicious, it can also become monotonous. So why not make your own custom and fun snacks?

English Muffin Pizzas are one of my favorite snacks. They are great to make with little kids and are customizable. The best part about them is that you don't have to share! My favorite pizza combination is mozzarella and provolone cheese, mini pepperonis and sausage bits.

Tuna sailboats are so cute and fun to eat. All you have to do is take some tuna fish ( pre- made however you like it), then scoop out the yolk of a boiled egg and replace it with the tuna. For the sailboat, add a triangular chip on top. Bon Voyage!

Ants on a log and Bugs on a log  . This is a classic summer snack, fresh celery, peanut butter and raisins. But if you're like me and don't really like celery too much, there's a new option! Bugs on a log are the same as ants on a log, but the celery is replaced with a pretzel stick. This is the less healthy alternative but it still tastes great.

Pretzel Flowers   Even though spring is gone, we can still find flowers everywhere, even in our food! All the chocolate and M&M lovers will enjoy this sweet and salty snack. (No actual flowers are harmed during this process)

Peanut butter chocolate acorns Another point for chocolate lovers! These chocolatey and crunchy sweets might take a little more time than the others but the outcome is delicious.

S'mores  Grab your friends and family, then gather ‘round the campfire. The messy goodness of a s’more can be made in a whole lot of different ways such as s’more pops, caramel s’mores, and s’mores cheesecake. One of my “ secrets” to making the classic s’more even better is to replace the chocolate bar with a reese's peanut butter cup.

Bark. No this is not from a tree. Bark is a layer of hard chocolate with additions of your favorite nuts, candy, or dried fruit. This can range from a peppermint bark to a dark chocolate brownie flavor.

Muddy buddies. Looking for a little crunch in your life? Chex Mix muddy buddies are a great crunchy snack that can be made in a lot of different flavors such as cookies and cream as well as peanut butter.

Rice Crispy treats. Everyone knows the snap crackle and pop of a delicious rice crispy treat, so why not make one yourself? There are so many different ways to customize them like adding sprinkles, food coloring, chocolate chips and even putting them in molds!

Ice cream in a bag. This snack is great for the hot summer days up ahead as well as helping you get an arm workout along the way.
