With the 4th of July coming up everyone is looking for a way to cool down! The summer heat makes ice cream and popsicles a tasty treat for all ages but my personal favorite is a nice snowcone. This recipe is a super simple way to make your own snow cone syrup for those hot summer days and it’s only 3 ingredients!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of sugar
- 2 tbsp of drink flavoring (lemonade mix, orange drink flavoring, fruit punch mix, etc.)
Directions:
- Bring water and sugar to a boil on medium heat and let simmer for 3 minutes
- Remove from heat and add drink flavoring.
- Let cool for about an hour then pour into a squeeze bottle (you can also use a mason jar or some other container but I find a squeeze bottle is easiest to put on snow cones)
- Store in refrigerator
- When you are ready to make snow cones remove flavoring from the fridge and crush ice in either a blender or a snow cone machine.
- Then top ice with flavoring and if desired add a little bit of sweet and condensed milk to the top.
- Enjoy!
