Summer sweets can be tricky; it’s a bit too hot to turn on the oven, but ice cream every day isn’t always the way to go. These three no-bake desserts are an easy solution. Not only are they delicious, but they’re all kid-friendly! So try them out the next time you need a fun dessert.
Pretzel Bark
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Additional Time: 30 minutes in the fridge
Ingredients
- 1 bag of pretzels
- 1 bag of milk chocolate chips
- 1 bag of white chocolate chips
- 1 sleeve of oreos
- Sea salt
Instructions
- Lay pretzels out flat on a sheet pan covered in wax paper, and melt your milk chocolate chips, and crush your oreos.
- Drizzle your milk chocolate evenly over the pretzels (most effective with a piping/ziplock bag) and then sprinkle oreo crumbles along the top.
- Melt your white chocolate chips, and drizzle evenly over your first layer of chocolate. Finish off with a sprinkle of sea salt (sprinkles also work great).
- Put in the fridge for about 30 minutes, once set break apart into medium sized pieces and enjoy!
Cookie Dough Bars
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Additional Time: 2 hours in the fridge
Ingredients
Cookie dough
- ½ cup of brown sugar
- 1 stick of butter (softened)
- 1 cup of flour
- ½ cup of sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- ½ cup of mini chocolate chips
- Sprinkles
Glaze
- 1 bag of white chocolate chips
- ½ cup of heavy cream
- Food coloring
Instructions
- Mix the brown sugar and butter in a bowl with a hand mixer until combined. Add the flour, vanilla, and condensed milk and mix until you have a dough. Fold in the sprinkles and chocolate chips.
- Line a square baking pan with parchment paper and spread the dough out evenly in it. Let chill in the refrigerator for one hour.
- Once the dough has chilled for about an hour place the white chocolate chips and heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until it is creamy and then add the food coloring.
- Remove the dough from the fridge and pour the white chocolate evenly over it. Put back in the refrigerator and let it chill until the glaze sets, about an hour, then cut and serve!
Apple Donuts
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- 3 apples
- ½ cup of your favorite nut or seed butter (we used peanut butter)
- 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
- 2 cups of water
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Assorted toppings (we recommend sprinkles, chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or granola)
Instructions
- Core your apples and then cut them into half inch slices.
- Mix the water and lemon juice in a bowl and soak the apples in the mixture for 5 to 10 minutes (prevents browning). Then remove and pat dry with paper towels.
- Take half of the peanut butter, add the cocoa powder and mix. Then frost the “donuts” and add your desired toppings. Serve and enjoy!
