The award-winning Stafford Players, Stafford High School's drama students, will bring "Peter and the Starcatcher" to center stage on April 26 and 27 and May 2-4, 2019. From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely, "Peter and the Starcatcher" is the story of the bonds of friendship, duty and love. Molly, a starcatcher-in-training, faces off against the fearsome Black Stache in an enchanting adventure that reveals how a wayward orphan becomes "the boy who wouldn't grow up"-Peter Pan.


"This is a play, people of all ages will enjoy because of the high adventure and excitement, colorful characters and scenery," said Stafford High School Director of Theater, Michael D'Addario. "We're looking forward to bringing another quality play to the community that's perfect for the whole family."


D'Addario and the school's Fine Arts Teacher Chad Johnson, co-director, work with the students to achieve excellence in acting and technical aspects of the performances and rehearse daily after school and all day on Saturdays. D'Addario has led Stafford High School drama students to earn more than 100 awards in the district, regional, state and national competitions in the decade since he has been a director. The students most recently won the state level class 5 Virginia High School League championship of Theater, for its performance of "Alice in Wonderland" on March 2, this was after winning first place in both the district and regional levels.


"Peter and the Starcatcher" will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 26; 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 27; 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 2; 7 p.m. on May 3; and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on May 4. Tickets are $6 for children, students and senior citizens and $9 for adults and are available at the food payable with cash or check.
