Thank goodness for Ravensburger! Our family loves board games, so when Five Little Fish arrived in the mail I just knew it would be a hit. This game arrived in a sturdy box (not the type that collapses in the grip of excited children and requires tape before the game can be put away) and had equally sturdy game pieces. My kids were instantly enamored by the collapsing fish tails concept and played with them excitedly while I read the directions. The basic concept of the game is that you are trying to match the fish on the card (lily pads) to the plastic fish with the same color tail. You can’t see the tail while the fish is “in the water” so you have to remember which color is where. My kids love hooking the fish and finding out which color they are pulling up.
I love that my 3, 5 and 7 year old can all play this game together. Set up is easy so they can do it themselves, which they just love. They are having fun playing together while also learning to follow directions and lose graciously. The older two even changed the rules around a bit to play different variations of the game when the youngest isn’t playing with them. I love this game stimulates their imaginations and helps develop their independence.
Young players will be hooked on this easy to play, repetitive task game which helps learn colors and taking turns. Ravensburger has creatively incorporated matching, colors and hand-eye coordination to spark the curiosity and excitement of young players. This innovative game has already sparked endless hours of fun in our home.This game will make a wonderful birthday or holiday surprise for your little gamers!
