Malawi's Pizza - Kid's eat FREE on Monday's in September!

My family and I recently had dinner at Malawi’s Pizza for the first time.  They are located in the Village at the Spotsylvania Towne Centre, next door to Soma. When we entered the restaurant was bright and clean. The menu has about 16 pizzas to choose from, plus 7 pastas, 8 salads and 5 dessert pizzas! (They also have Glutten Free options listed)

We chose the Tuscan Pepperoni Pizza (listed on the wall at the Founder’s Favorite), a Margherita pizza, a BLT pizza and 6 breadsticks. We also got three kid’s meals, Mac & Cheese, fettuccini Alfredo and a cheese pizza. The staff took our order and payment at the front counter. We were given drink cups to get our fountain drinks and a number for our table. Our food was brought out to our table once it was ready.

While we were waiting we noticed the signs on the wall explaining the purpose behind Malawi’s. “From the beginning Malawi's Pizza® has been purpose driven. Founder, Blake Roney's vision to help feed some of the most vulnerable children in the world inspired their Meal-for-Meal™ Exchange Program. For every meal purchased in a Malawi's Pizza® restaurant they automatically donate a nutrient-dense meal to a child in Malawi, Africa that would otherwise go hungry. Local franchise owners, Patrick and Rebecca Church chose to bring the Malawi's concept to the Fredericksburg area and are dedicated to giving back near and far. "Since our inception we have donated more than 1.1 million meals to children in Malawi. Additionally, we have partnered with the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank to feed those that suffer from hunger right here in our community. You can visit our restaurant and not only enjoy a wonderful experience with delicious food, but also feel good knowing that you are contributing to a truly meaningful cause," says Rebecca.”

My youngest kiddos are sometimes picky eaters, but they were happy with their kid’s meals. All three finished their dinners plus most of a gigantic breadstick each.  (Have no fear, no breadsticks or parts-there-of were leftover at this dinner.) My husband, oldest son and I shared the other three pizzas so we could try them all. We enjoyed the various flavors and the thin crust, brick oven taste.

After dinner we couldn’t leave without trying out the dessert pizzas. We went with the Reese’s Peanut butter S’more pizza and the Berries and Cream Pizza. The Reese’s was all brick oven while the crust on the Berries and Cream was cooked and the berries added afterwards.

We are all looking forward to heading back soon to try other pizza, pasta and salad choices. Be sure to stop in and try it for yourself!  You can check out their menu here.

Kids eat FREE ALL DAY on Mondays in September. Children 12 and under will receive a free kid’s meal as advertised for each adult entrée purchased. This exciting deal may not be combined with any other offers.
