Patriotic Craft: Red, White and Blue Windsock

By Nikki Gass May 17, 2018

Want an easy patriotic craft to do with the kids? Here is a one that is quick, easy, and makes for a cute decoration for Memorial Day and Fourth of July!

Here is what you will need:

  • Red plastic cup
  • blue and white party streamers
  • star stickers
  • scissors
  • glue stick

(I picked up all these items at Walmart for under $5)

Here is how you do it:

1. Use star stickers to decorate the outside of your plastic cups. I picked the ones we used for $0.97 at Walmart in the scrapbook section. I loved that they had the holographic look to them.

2. Cut 3 or 4 paper steamers, roughly 12” long, of each color.

3. Take your glue stick and use it at the end of each streamer. Place them inside the cup alternating colors. Another way I did this for my toddler was to line the inside of the cup rim with glue stick instead of putting on each individual streamer. This allowed her to easily just press the streamers on inside the cup.

4. Wait to dry before hanging. I used a knife to punch a hole in the top of the cup and extra streamer to hang. For extra support you can use string, yarn, or wire to hang.

There you have it! A perfect patriotic craft for all ages that can be used to decorate around your home!
