Our favorite web slinging teenager, Peter Parker is back in this action packed movie. One of Marvel’s most popular characters, Spiderman is back home to live with his Aunt May after a tour with the Avengers. His new mentor, Tony Stark keeps a watchful eye over this teen hero. In this colorful and fun movie, Spidey-Teen is trying to get back into his normal daily routine while fighting off yet another evil villain. With awesome stunts and awesome special effects, this will be a new crowd favorite of Spidey fans.
We went to our local Walmart 1800 Carl D. Silver Parkway to purchase a copy of the movie to check it out. They had DVD, Blu-Ray, Ultra 4D Blu-Ray and a Blu-Ray Movie Gift Pack all in stock. We grabbed some popcorn and went home to take a look and bring back the information that all parents should know before viewing this movie with their families.
First off we will start with the warnings:
Violence:
There are some action scenes that depict some risky turmoil that may be inappropriate for small children. Spiderman gets into some pretty intense action scenes, gets hurt by debris and gets dropped from high buildings. There are some brief intense moments of panic in public places that may not be appropriate for those with PTSD.
Language:
There are a few instances of curse words and inappropriate innuendos for a young audience. Teenagers are flirty in the movie and make suggestive comments.
Sexual Content:
Flirting and sexual innuendos, some kissing.
Once you have determined if this is an appropriate audience for your family, there are some great messages and influences in the movie that will make great conversation starters with your kids.
Positive Messages:
- In order to be a leader and to have a powerful impact on the world, there is responsibility that comes with it.
- No matter what your age is, you can always make a great impact on the world around you.
- Always persevere and be brave in any situation.
- This movie shows a culturally diverse depiction of teenage life in Queens, NY.
- We all have the power within us to succeed, whether we are wearing the suit or not.
Overall this is a great movie with a positive message, and as always we recommend watching it before your children to determine if it is safe for them to watch. We feel that this is definitely a great movie for tweens, teens and adults. If action scenes and superheroes are your thing, you will love Spiderman:Homecoming! This might just be your new favorite of the Spiderman series, get your own copy at your local Walmart to find out.
