Local Business Highlight: The Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center

By Stephanie Stewart October 19, 2017

The Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center opened in May of 2016 in North Stafford. This is the first facility of it’s kind in Stafford and with constant activity inside county residents sure show there was a need for a facility in this area!

The 75,000 square foot facility features three pools including an Olympic-size competition pool, a recreation pool, and a wellness pool. We are not just an aquatics facility, however; we have so much more to offer!

A 5,000 square foot fitness floor features Hoist and Matrix equipment and our staff of certified personal trainers are always eager to help members work towards achieving their goals. With new equipment on its way, we will soon offer a Marpo Rope Trainer and the Matrix S-Drive. Group fitness classes include Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Hot Hula, Sculpt, Kettle Bell, Cardio Kickbox, cycling classes, as well as classes for kids are all offered and included with the memberships.

We offer three pools: the wellness pool is heated to 88 degrees and is great for anyone with arthritis or those recovering from an injury; the competition pool is Olympic size and provides 28 lanes of swimming in 80 degree water; the recreation pool is generally around 84 degrees and offers six lanes plus a splash area for kids. Water aerobics classes are also conducted in both the competition and recreation pools and occasionally in the warmer wellness pool.

Our regulation size basketball court is always buzzing with basketball, volleyball, kids’ soccer, homeschool physical education programs, and birthday parties! Our competitive leagues are open to non-members as well as members so if you’ve wanted to join a volleyball or basketball team or get your kids involved in competitive basketball check out our website, www.rousecenter.com.

We offer a kids’ club for kids 8 and under and senior kids’ club for those between 9-12, allowing you to work out or attend a class while your children engage in board games, physical activity in the gym, games and interaction with other children.

With a full-service café available to everyone, burgers, pizza, salads, wraps and protein smoothies are convenient meals to bring home for dinner or eat in our seating area.

If you haven’t yet visited the facility we invite you to check us out! We are located just off of Courthouse Road, on the new end of Mine Road. From I-95, take exit 140 and head west approximately one and a half miles and make a right on Mine Road. We are located in the Embrey Mill Sports Park, adjacent to the multi-purpose fields.
