How to Pack a Backpack

By By Kate Battles, age 11 August 10, 2017

I like to organize, craft, and write, so I’m happy to write the list that you see before you.
This list will give you great steps and tips for easily packing your kids’ backpacks for the upcoming school year.

#1: Make sure you have the right size backpack with the right features for your kids’ class needs.

  • A mesh pocket for a water bottle
  • Big enough sections for all the different books and notebooks
  • Special pockets for erasers, pencils etc.

#2: Find the right supplies for your different classes.

  • For art class, a sketch book, pencils in the right shade, paint, paintbrushes, and erasers, in my opinion it’s easy to find stuff like that at Michaels.
  • For the main subjects, include notebooks, and pencils. (It’s cheap to find these at the dollar store.)

#3: Pack all the supplies where they’re easiest to find, or where they fit the most. It’s best when each subject’s supplies are in one area of the backpack (it’s easier to get out when it’s time for that subject.

#4: Let your kids decorate their backpacks personally and have fun with it! I like to decorate my backpack with clip on animals, but even just a personalized key chain with your kids’ names or charms would be great!
