Healthy Jalapeño Poppers

By Sarah Binette, NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Weight Loss Specialist August 10, 2017

In the spirit of jalapeño poppers, here is a recipe that is leaner and cleaner. Sub in jalapeños for sweet peppers, nitrate free bacon for turkey bacon, or whatever flavor you favor. Great for meal or snack time, so warm up your oven and get ready for a treat!

Ingredients

  • Pack of sweet mini peppers or jalapeño peppers
  • 1 container Laughing Cow Cheese (any flavor)
  • 1 pack nitrate-free turkey bacon

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2.  Core and cut peppers in half.
  3.  Spread desired amount of cheese on peppers.
  4.  Wrap with 1 slice of turkey bacon.
  5.  Secure with toothpick. Bake on cookie sheet for approximately 15 minutes. (These are also great on the grill!)
