Baked BBQ Chicken

How many times during the week do you think "What am I going to make for dinner?" Hopefully this recipe will become one of your favorites. This Baked BBQ Chicken is delicious. It is great sliced on a salad once chilled or served hot with potatoes and a vegetable. The best part is that it is easy to make.

Ingredients:
chicken (I prefer boneless chicken breasts)
salt and pepper
BBQ sauce (use your personal favorite)

Kitchen utensils:
cookie sheet pan or stoneware pan (I prefer a stoneware pan as I feel it cooks the chicken more thoroughly and provides an easy clean up)
tongs
bowl or paper plate
basting brush

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Arrange the chicken on the cookie sheet pan/stoneware pan and salt and pepper the top side of the chicken.

3. Place chicken in the oven for 10 minutes.

4. Remove chicken from oven, flip over with tongs, salt and pepper this side of the chicken, and place it back in the oven for 10 minutes.

5. Remove chicken from oven, put BBQ sauce in a bowl or on a paper plate (whatever amount you would like to use, but note that any BBQ that has touched the basting brush has touched raw chicken, and must be discarded if any is left over), baste chicken with BBQ sauce and place the chicken back in oven for 5 minutes.

6. Remove chicken from oven, flip chicken over with tongs, baste the this side of chicken with BBQ sauce, place chicken back in oven and cook until chicken is properly cooked through (165 degrees Fahrenheit).

7. Enjoy.

(If you are not a fan of BBQ sauce, you could use Teriyaki sauce or any other type of sauce. Also, always be sure to wash your hands after touching raw chicken.)
