Fredericksburg Area Local Park Review: Loriella Park

By Emily Wessel January 20, 2018

Loriella Park is located off of Leavells Road, conveniently between Route 1 and Route 3. Many know the park as a site for Parks and Rec soccer and baseball, swimming, and multiple open fields. Loriella has something to offer for all ages.

Trails
If you like to hike or go on nature walks, plan a visit to Loriella Park. There is a 2.9 mile trail that is very easy to access. Area schools use the trail for Cross Country Meets, and you can expect a clean and safe trail.

Playgrounds
The playgrounds at Loriella are wonderful for kids. Not only is there a lot space, but it is shaded. The main playground is next to a pavilion and bathrooms, perfect for a lunch picnic. There is also a separate swing area next to open fields so kids can play and then take a break on the swings.

Sports Fields
Loriella has more than just soccer and baseball fields. There are tennis courts, a basketball court, and a disc golf course. If you prefer another sport, there are three multipurpose fields available for public use.

Swimming Pool
Loriella Park’s swimming pool allows you to cool off after running around on the playground or fields. The pool offers swim lessons, private parties, and open swim times.

Pack a picnic and plan to spend the entire day at Loriella Park!
