A Fancy Princess Tea Party

By Stephanie Stewart December 14, 2016
With a December birthday so close to Christmas, it is always a task to make our daughter feel extra special for her birthday. This year we opted for a small party at our house with a few friends of her choice. Lots of pink, glitter, gold and giggles were experienced that day and we thought we would share this day with all of our great Macaroni Family as well! As a frugal mom, I found most of these items at our local Walmart and Dollar Tree and found some simple, inexpensive ways to spruce things up a bit. Hope you all enjoy these ideas, I had a ton of fun shopping and putting everything together!

Crafts/Games:
  • Every fine lady needs a fan to go with her tea party dress, so we designed our own using construction paper, various stickers and crayons. Fold accordion style and each girl has their own fan to enjoy!
  • I found an adorable Tea Party Coloring Sheet Printable online from See Vanessa Craft located HERE so each girl got their own mini pack of crayons to color with.
  • We made our own twirling ribbon wands using Plastic Table Covers, Pipe Cleaners and Straws (Tutorial in next week's newsletter) and had our very own dance party!
  • We learned and sang "I'm A Little Tea Pot"

Favors/Details:
  • I found these adorable cardboard mini boxes with twine, so I added Skittles about halfway full and included a small plastic princess ring as a favor.
  • Each Place-setting had her own shiny party beads in pink and gold and a princess wand.
  • I bought pink gift bags (2/$1 at Dollar Tree) for each girl to take home her treasures with and included a tag that said "Thank you for being such a sweet friend. Love, Abby"
  • For Abby's chair back, I took an extra tablecloth and tied it around in a knot, added an accent color and cut the ends uneven. I fluffed them up to make it look like a natural flower.
  • Each place-setting had a paper doily, gold plate then light pink plate. The silverware was wrapped in a white napkin and secured with a candy bracelet as the napkin ring (6/$1 at Walmart).
